Hey, y’all! I’m Andrea: Christian, wife, stay at home mom (SAHM) of 2 active boys and 1 sweet girl, and a speech-language pathologist (SLP).
I recently resigned, after 11 years, from working in a GREAT elementary school, in order to focus more on homeschooling my children. I’m currently figuring out ways to balance homeschooling as well as helping to provide income for my family. I enjoy keeping my kids entertained and out of each others’ hair, and talking my husband’s ear off.
I’d love to share my experiences, both good and bad, provide laughter and encouragement, and tips on making family life easier (as I learn them myself), while providing my expertise on speech/language development.
I want to help readers realize that you’re not alone, especially during those late night moments. I want to provide you with encouragement and insight through the not-so-fun times, and provide a place to share ideas on making family life more enjoyable.
I went to Alabama A&M University (GO BULLDOGS) with the intent of becoming a broadcast journalist. One look into the prospects for a career sent me scouring the internet and questioning family and friends for another career path. I was fortunate enough to have a friend tell me about Communicative Sciences and Disorders. I was not familiar with speech therapy at that point, but I saw hope in being able to deal with language while helping those in need. Win-win, right? I also promised myself to continue to pursue writing in other ways: I’ve contributed to a christian magazine, helped create catchy phrases, songs, and advertisement literature for friends, and I’ve shared my life experiences on Facebook, which TOTALLY counts. People have urged me to start a blog for years, and now, HERE I AM!
